Christmas Card Student Art Contest
Legacy Christian Academy is excited to host our annual Christmas Card Student Art Contest. The winning artwork will be featured on the cover of this year’s Christmas card, mailed to Legacy families, staff, grandparents, and alumni.
Deadline Friday, November 13
This year’s card
Luke 2:10–11, ESV“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’”
This verse will be printed on the inside of the card. Draw inspiration from it as you create a Christ-centered Christmas design.
Who can enter
Every grade. Original work only.
Students from all grade levels are invited to participate. Artwork must be original and student-created — no parent artwork or assistance, please.
The invitation
Students in every grade are welcome. Create something that points to the good news of Christmas.
The standard
The artwork must be yours. Please do not have a parent draw, paint, or design it for you.
Entry guidelines & judging
Make it clear, bright, and Christ-centered
Drawings, paintings, and digital designs will be accepted. Judges look for a design that is original, well composed, and ready to print on a holiday card.
Media
Drawings, paintings, and digital designs* are welcome.
Size & orientation
Landscape orientation. Artwork should fit a 5 × 7-inch card when scaled.
Creative idea
A Christ-centered Christmas idea that is unique, expressive, and appropriate.
Accuracy of drawing
Objects are drawn with correct perspective, proportion, and shape.
Use of space
The entire area is used, and the composition is arranged well.
Colors
Solid, bright, contrasting colors that produce unity and print well.

If you are submitting a digital design, prepare the file so it can be printed on a 5 × 7 card without losing quality.

- 7 inches wide × 5 inches tall (2100 × 1500 pixels at 300 dpi)
- Resolution
- 300 dpi
- Bleed
- 0.125 inches on all sides
- File type
- JPEG, PDF, or PNG
- Editable file
- Include the original art file (.ai, .psd, or .indd)
- Orientation
- Landscape, ready to scale to a 5 × 7 card

Turn in your original artwork by Friday, November 13.

Drop off your artwork at the South Campus front desk.
Send your entry to communications@legacyca.com. Digital artists should attach both the print file and the original editable file.
