Why Spanish Immersion at LCA?
The goal of our Spanish Immersion program is to produce bilingual students who are high academic achievers, proficient in Spanish, and both knowledgeable and appreciative of other Spanish-speaking cultures.
An additional goal is to further develop one of Legacy's core values, Imago Dei — "Image of God." As Genesis reveals, God created all mankind uniquely in His image. At Legacy we celebrate the enormous value and diversity of all mankind and equip students to serve, share, and receive Christ-like love with and from speakers of other languages.

Students enter in kindergarten or 1st grade and continue through lower school in Spanish, building fluency that carries into upper grades and beyond.
Kindergarten
Entry point for new families. Core kindergarten curriculum taught primarily in Spanish with foundational literacy and numeracy.
1st Grade
Final entry point for the program. Students who join here build immersion skills alongside returning classmates.
Grades 2–4
Continued immersion in lower school with increasing English integration per add.a.lingua model guidelines.
Middle School
Spanish Immersion students follow advanced Spanish coursework aligned with add.a.lingua best practices.

Getting Started
What is Spanish Immersion at LCA?
Spanish Immersion delivers Legacy's rigorous Christ-centered curriculum primarily in Spanish during the early years. Students develop bilingual fluency alongside the same academic standards as our traditional track — with added cultural appreciation and global perspective.
When can my child enter the program?
New students may enter in kindergarten or 1st grade. First grade is the last entry level — students must begin the program by 1st grade to participate.
Is the admissions process different from traditional LCA?
No. The application process and criteria for admission are the same as the traditional application process. Spanish Immersion applicants also pay a one-time $1,000 registration fee when applying, which is refunded if the student is not selected.
Do parents need to speak Spanish at home?
No. Families from all language backgrounds thrive in our program. Immersion happens at school — parents support learning through encouragement, reading together, and partnering with teachers. You do not need to speak Spanish to support your child's success.
Academics & Support
Is the curriculum the same as traditional kindergarten?
Yes. Spanish Immersion students receive the same rigorous kindergarten and lower school curriculum — phonics, math, science, Bible, and more — delivered through the immersion model. Academic expectations match our traditional track.
What is add.a.lingua and why does it matter?
add.a.lingua is a national leader in Spanish immersion for Christian schools. Legacy partners with add.a.lingua for curriculum guidance, teacher training, and proven immersion practices that produce strong bilingual outcomes.
Is there support if my child struggles with literacy?
Yes. The Legacy Learning Center offers the Esperanza program — Spanish literacy intervention using a multisensory, structured approach. Contact Bernadette Rodriguez for Spanish Immersion LLC questions.
What happens after lower school?
Spanish Immersion students continue at LCA through middle and high school with advanced Spanish coursework. Bilingual graduates are well prepared for college, careers, and Kingdom service with a skill set that sets them apart.

What is the Spanish Immersion registration fee?
All Spanish Immersion applicants pay a one-time registration fee of $1,000 when the application is submitted. If your child is not selected for the program, the fee is fully refunded. See tuition information for full fee details.
How do current families request a spot?
Current LCA families with students entering kindergarten or 1st grade submit a request for consideration and pay the $1,000 registration fee through the Spanish Immersion registration form.
