Texas Time Travelers Unite!
Fourth graders embark on an annual Texas trip to Austin and San Antonio, immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of our state’s history. From touring the Capitol building and engaging with lawmakers to exploring the State Cemetery, San José Mission, the Alamo, and Natural Bridge Caverns, this adventure extends the classroom into the heart of Texas.
With a foundation in 4th grade Social Studies, students apply knowledge about Texas history and the vital role of Christians in shaping history and politics. This trip is a catalyst for community building among students and parents, fostering lasting Legacy connections.

Illuminating the Roots of Faith in D.C.
Eighth graders embark on a profound journey to explore the roots of faith in America’s capital. This pilgrimage culminates their studies as students witness firsthand the sites they’ve learned about — Arlington National Cemetery, war memorials, the Smithsonian, National Archives, the Capitol, the Holocaust Museum, and the Museum of the Bible.
Faith, history, and education converge in the heart of the nation. Devotionals, prayer time, and scripture are seamlessly integrated, ensuring students gain a comprehensive understanding of our nation’s history and culture while experiencing personal growth in their faith.

Soaring to New Heights at Camp SOTO
Seniors, prepare for a transformative retreat! As rising seniors, the trip to Camp SOTO in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas is a sacred time for reflection and connection. Amid breathtaking landscapes, students enjoy worship night led by fellow students, nightly devotionals tailored to the senior leadership journey, and ample free time for bonding.
From high ropes courses and the fan-favorite Goat Cave hike to swimming, fishing, archery, and a petting zoo with roaming donkeys — every moment fosters togetherness before the final year of high school.

Program Basics
Are educational trips included in tuition?
Yes. Educational trips for grades 4, 8, and 12 are seamlessly integrated into tuition, consistent with other all-inclusive offerings at LCA such as the dining program. Families do not receive separate trip invoices for these signature experiences.
Which grades participate in educational trips?
LCA offers signature trips at 4th grade (Texas), 8th grade (Washington, D.C.), and 12th grade (Camp SOTO senior retreat). Each trip aligns with pivotal academic and spiritual milestones in our program.
How are trips connected to what students learn in class?
Each journey extends classroom instruction. Fourth graders apply Texas History and Social Studies; eighth graders visit sites studied throughout middle school; seniors reflect on leadership and faith before their final year. Teachers and chaperones integrate devotionals and discussion throughout.
What if my child is not yet in a participating grade?
Many families choose LCA knowing these milestone trips await their child. While only specific grades travel each year, the trips are part of the long-term value built into tuition across your family’s LCA journey.
Safety & Logistics
How does LCA handle safety and supervision?
Trips are led by LCA faculty and staff with established protocols for transportation, lodging, and student supervision. Detailed parent communication is shared ahead of each trip, including schedules, packing lists, and emergency procedures.
Can parents attend or chaperone?
Parent involvement varies by trip and grade level. The 4th grade Texas trip especially fosters community among students and parents. Contact our community engagement team for current chaperone opportunities.
What about students with medical needs or allergies?
We work with families and school nurses to accommodate medical needs on every trip. Please share concerns early so our team can plan with chaperones and trip partners.
Will students need spending money?
Core trip costs are covered through tuition. Families may optionally send a modest amount for souvenirs or snacks depending on trip details communicated before departure.
