Common Questions

Financial Aid FAQs

What is Financial Aid?

LCA's Financial Aid program reflects our commitment to providing access to Christian education to families of all income levels.

How is Financial Aid beneficial to LCA?

We recognize that there is a wide range of family incomes and assets. Our Financial Aid program is designed to address these differences, bridging the gap between our full tuition and what a family can realistically contribute. Our goal is to make private Christian education accessible to more prospective families, thereby enriching our student body and broader community.

How does Financial Aid work?

Any prospective or current family with students in kindergarten to grade 12 may apply for Financial Aid. Legacy Christian Academy partners with Clarity, a third-party processor of Financial Aid applications. The Financial Aid Committee reviews each application to determine financial need, taking into consideration factors such as household income, size, and expenses. Each application is evaluated to understand the family's unique financial situation.

How do we apply for Financial Aid?
Is Financial Aid available for all grades?

Financial Aid is available to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Will applying for Financial Aid affect my child's admission chances?

No. Admission applications and Financial Aid applications are reviewed separately, and submitting an application for Financial Aid has no bearing on an applicant's admissibility.

Do we need to reapply for Financial Aid each year?

Families are required to reapply for Financial Aid annually. Applications are reviewed each year based on the information provided, and Financial Aid is awarded accordingly.

Are all admitted students automatically offered Financial Aid if they qualify?

We make a significant investment into our Financial Aid program every year. However, the funds are not unlimited. Therefore, we may not be able to offer Financial Aid to every student who qualifies and gets admitted.

How do families in multiple households apply?

For Financial Aid consideration, LCA requires that both parents submit an application. Financial Aid award decisions will take into account resources from both households. Should unique circumstances prevent both parents from submitting an application, please contact financialaid@legacyca.com to discuss your situation.

Will my application be confidential?

All Financial Aid applications are confidential. Faculty and administrators are not privy to any family's financial materials, nor are they aware of which families apply for Financial Aid.

In the case of applications from multiple households, all financial information is kept strictly confidential, and at no time will one household have access to the others' information.

LCA considers all Financial Aid decisions to be confidential agreements between the school and the recipient family and expects both parties to treat them that way.

TEFA & Financial Aid

Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) Program

The Texas Education Freedom Account program (TEFA) is an Education Savings Account (ESA) program that provides state funds directly to families to use for eligible educational expenses, including private school tuition and fees.

TEFA funds may reduce or replace any need-based financial aid traditionally offered by the school itself. LCA will require families to apply for and use TEFA funds before granting institutional aid.

You can find official information about the TEFA program, including eligibility details and updates on the application process (starting in early 2026 for the 2026–2027 school year), on the website of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts:
