Why Testing Matters
Clarity for parents and teachers
LLC enrollment for most divisions requires a full educational diagnostic battery and a qualifying diagnosis. LCA’s Diagnostic Services help current families gather that documentation with a comprehensive evaluation and a clear follow-up conference.
Families may also work with trusted outside evaluators. Student Services can help you decide which path fits your situation. Start with Holly Hammond or your division LLC director before scheduling.
Full Psychoeducational Battery
What Is Provided
A complete evaluation includes consultation, testing, a written report, and a parent conference.
- Consultation with parents to review developmental history, health history, academic strengths and concerns, extracurricular interests, and social-emotional tendencies
- Review of input from teachers
- Review of report cards, progress reports, and standardized testing
- Cognitive testing (for example: verbal comprehension, fluid reasoning, working memory, long-term retrieval, processing speed, perceptual reasoning, and auditory processing)
- Achievement testing (for example: reading, spelling, mathematics, written expression)
- Attention and behavioral screening
- Additional testing components when necessary (for example: phonological processing, receptive and expressive language, fine motor integration, and handwriting)
- A comprehensive written report with background, detailed results, clinical analysis, diagnoses when applicable, and individualized recommendations or accommodations
- Post-evaluation conference with parents to discuss the evaluation and recommendations

Next Steps Toward LLC Support
Once you have current testing, contact your division LLC director and submit the LLC application. New families should begin with Admissions.
