Legacy Learning Center · Therapy
Take Flight dyslexia therapy during the school day: multisensory, structured reading instruction delivered by LCA specialists who partner with classroom teachers.
Who It Is For
Dyslexia Therapy at LCA is for students with a qualifying reading disorder diagnosis, a full educational diagnostic battery, and a documented educational need for accommodations and support.
Therapy happens during the school day, five times per week, so families are not choosing between after-school activities and consistent remediation.
Getting Started
Curriculum
Legacy uses the Take Flight Program as the basis of therapy for students with dyslexia. Take Flight contains the five components of effective reading instruction: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Reading Comprehension.
Students learn all 44 sounds of English, 96 letter–sound correspondence rules, and 87 affixes, plus spelling rules for base words and derivatives.
Practice opportunities are designed to improve oral reading fluency within structured, multisensory lessons.
Take Flight introduces comprehension and vocabulary strategies for narrative and expository text to prepare students for independent reading.
Sessions are typically dedicated 45-minute pull-outs, five days per week, with an Individualized Accommodation Plan and digital accommodations when needed.
Why Families Choose LCA
School-day delivery, teacher partnership, and consistent dosage are the practical differences parents ask about most.
